Should have paid more attention to the title

Love the characters and stories but a bit horrified these stories condone murder. Still the title did warn me!

Give me more please!

I purchased the 3 audio book version. If it were a physical book, I would say I couldn’t put it down. Awesome cast of characters and great story line. Being a Cis white gay male, I appreciated the characters and the dialogue being inclusive and telling stories that align with my struggles for acceptance of who I am. More audio books please! Thank you!

Instantly enchanting

I've read two of these books now and absolutely adore all the main characters 😍 I love the premise, it's wonderful. I was sucked in very quickly and am very excited to get on to the next one 😊

The Invite

This was a nice short intro to some pivotal Devon Island characters. It was a fun read.

I love the Devon Island Series

I love any book that deals with the characters from Devon's Island. Even grumpy Gurdeep and her sunshine wife.

Lovely story, but I wanted more

Another good short story. I'm glad the author has returned to the Mars Colony series, and I'd love to see a full-length book three. But then, I also want another full-length Vigilaunte Justice book, so maybe I'm just greedy 😎

It's a lovely, cosy short, told from Gurdeep's perspective. My only criticism is that it's very short and I wanted it to last longer.

Intriguing, cosy and fun

Really, really enjoyed this. I bought this and the second of the series to read over Christmas week but accidentally thought I'd have a quick sneak read of a few pages. I devoured BOTH of them immediately! Could not put them down. Fun, with surprise murders; cosy, with interesting and unique characters and situations. Highly recommended. 6 stars out of 5!

Cozy, fun, but a bit deadly!

Really, really enjoyed this, the second of the series, which could be read as a stand-alone (I have read the first one). The characters are all well-written with each of them developing in interesting ways as the story develops, all unique and intriguing. I bought both books for my Christmas week reading but devoured them in a few days two weeks too early! Highly recommended (as long as you don't mind a bit of unexpected murder). 6 stars out of 5.

An Exciting Read

Kidnapped with her dog and kept in the Teapot was not what Lem ever dreamt of . A strange experience awaited her on that journey. A enjoyable read with humour and interesting characters. A intriguing read.

Enjoyable mystery

This mystery had almost everything I like in a crime/mystery story. Good plot, a murderer well deserving the action taken against them. Nice revenge. The characters’ disabilities are well described. Nice main characters, but, at least to me, there is something missing in the relationships between them and how they react to each other and the world. I still enjoyed them, and will read all the books. I look forward to more stories.

Fun

Not really a dog person, but I really liked this so far.

An Exciting Read

Baz and her friends go about protecting the young women in their community from being attacked. It is hilarious the way they go about it. I enjoyed this book and recommend it to other readers.

Sci-fi Megabundle (the shorts) ebooks

A good read.

This was a fun read. I blew through it and it left me wanting more!

Fun story

A fun story. In some ways, it reminded me of the TV series Ghosts. I like that the author deliberately didn't specify the gender of any characters, although I only realised that when I read the acknowledgements 🙂

I want these friends!

What a great book. You will be so engaged with these characters that you’ll be envious that they aren’t your friends,
This is a fantastic series to dive into.

Katya's perspective

A great short story. I read it when I had almost finished Livid Skies. It was interesting to see events that I'd recently read from Georgie's perspective, but told from Katya's side.

A great addition to the series

I really like the concept of this series, and this book delivers. The characters are all interesting, but very different, and I feel like I'm starting to get to know the Aunties better, especially Baz. The idea that drag queens are targeted for violence is all too realistic, and there are some very unpleasant individuals, but the author manages to keep the tone light. As a fan of both Douglas Adams and Dharma Kelleher, the references to them made me smile :)

If you enjoyed any of the others in the series, or the Starship Teapot series, I'm sure you'll love this one too.

Clever and kind

This was a fun read, full of interesting characters and philosophy. I really liked the attention to world building, as the author paid attention to all the little details that often get swept under the rug (like everyone in the universe speaks English and is a naked biped). But most of all, I enjoyed spending time in a universe full of kindness and empathy. And shirty, fowl mouthed robots.

An extremely good series

I wasn't expecting this series to be so comprehensive and captivating. The research that would have to have been conducted to pull this series off so convincingly must have consumed many, many months, full-time. Then, to top it all with a cast of wonderfully diverse characters which also would have demanded a good deal of familiarity to get them so right, makes for a truly compelling read. This really is an extremely good series.

Excellent. Loved the characters

I really enjoyed this. After reading the Starship Teapot series, I picked up the free Friends in Need. As with Starship Teapot, i really enjoyed the characters. This book follows neatly on from Friends in Need and introduces a new character, Baz. She complements the other old ladies well. I was surprised (not in a bad way) at how things turned out but can't say more without spoiling. I don't read a lot of cosy mysteries, though, so that might just be my inexperience with the genre.

Cozy horror

I'm really enjoying this series. As the description says, this book is a cross between The Thing and The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. The term "cozy horror" seems like it should be a contradiction in terms, but that's what this book is. It's also very funny.

It's not remotely scary, but nonetheless kept me wondering what was happening and how things were going to be resolved. The ending was unexpected but also very believable.

Absolutely stellar book

With thanks to BookSirens and the author for a copy of this - it was an absolute lark. The concept of the figurative translator was so clever - I loved how it meant that it could be easily understood by the reader whilst also allowing for Lem to be utterly unaware of so much of it.

The characterisation was fantastic, and as someone who isn't a dog person, I must admit that Spock stole my heart. The whole cast of characters was great, though, and it's hard to pick a favourite (but it's probably Aurora). I look forward to reading the sequel!

As a final note - the little bit after the content warning made me feel so reassured going into this book. A beautiful, valuable declaration, and it made me very happy to read

Such a fun book!

I was very excited and thankful to receive an ARC of this book. I love this series and was thrilled that book 4 seems to be a throwback to book 1. It's fun and silly and, like the first one, I giggled my way through it. This time around our favorite space gang is captured by shape shifters who may or may not be sentient. Much confusion and hilarity ensue. I am loving Henry the robot more and more. Her species cannot swear so her insults are over the top and hysterical. The ending was not at all what I was expecting but I can actually see it happening for real, which made it even more funny. This one kind of ended on a cliff hanger so I am eagerly awaiting the next adventure.

A charming short book, with engaging characters and witty dialogue. POV shifts are sometimes hard to follow, but the POV characters are delightful.
